Living In Las Cruces- Spring/Summer 2008
CITY OF LAS CRUCES
|
|
Welcome to this edition of Living in Las Cruces. We are excited about our city and its future. We have a good climate, a beautiful landscape and a great university. We sit at the cross-roads of two of New Mexico’s major highways and within an hour of a major airport. And most of all, we have the friendly, hard-working people who live here along the Rio Grande and make this city the special place that it is.
Our challenge over the next few years is to negotiate growth and development, as new Las Crucens arrive to share our city. Especially important to our quality of life will be steady economic growth, cherishing and developing our older neighborhoods and becoming a leader in conservation and renewable energy. The city belongs to all of us, and its future depends on the strength of the vision that we share.
Whether as a visitor or fellow resident, I hope you will enjoy Las Cruces and the beautiful Mesilla Valley. Thanks for the opportunity to serve you.
